This was the first meeting that the commission wanted to use their $17,000 recording device they recently installed after two years of citizens asking them to record their meetings. Their recording device worked for 5 seconds then quit and they didn’t know anything about it. Luckily, Travis Ismay won’t stop recording meetings even after they said he didn’t have to anymore.
This was the meeting where they moved money around to cover the overspending that many departments/areas went overbudget, which seems to be a consistent occurence for Butte County government. In the end, it’s the tax payers who get the short end of the deal and the various departments continue to get all of their new, shiny things.
